Good morning friends! So who has gone on vacation since Covid?? Not me! But, I still remember the feeling of trying to get everything ready, packed, home life and work life all coordinated for the absence! And guess what! Hilary leaves for vaca tomorrow and is doing all the things to finish getting ready this morning! I’m excited for her and here in a couple weeks we will get to hear all about it!
In the meantime, she decided that she doesn’t want to get up for #coffeetalk next week, and who can blame her! So we will have our FIRST ever guest on #coffeetalk. But, who should it be? Well, you tell me! Share in comments below someone on Instagram that you would like to get to know a little bit better! And I will ask them to join me!
We also talked about when projects take WAY too much time and do not turn out like they are supposed to! Have you ever tried to paint over caulking? Well once you do, you will learn to ALWAYS buy paintable caulking, for EVER project! It’s so annoying to work with the other stuff! Hilary is so close to having her bathroom repairs done and her house put back together!! Meanwhile I’m over hear learning about the toothbrushes in my bathroom.
Now, I’m completely fine kissing my husband, but sharing his toothbrush…um…no thanks. Luckily the whole time I was sharing it, or possibly sharing it, I didn’t even know! Phew! So, I pick everything up when the cleaning lady comes. Like anything that I would normally leave out on my sink like make-up wipes, my glasses or contact case, my TOOTHBRUSH…well those things get put away.
Only this week when I put mine away I noticed that both toothbrushes were pink! Like the exact pink, brand, et. We were using the same toothbrush! How I had never noticed this before is beyond me! I sent Matt a photo of our brushes and asked him if he knew we had the same one. He did! Well, I didn’t. I immediately dug through the drawers for an extra and found 2 BLUE ones.
We had all just been to the dentist, so the toothbrushes were in our little goodie bags. I’m not sure why Matt picked a pink one!! But I now have a blue one and Matt has 2 pink ones! 😂
I also asked about product photos to throw a little business talk in this morning. I tend to like product photos on my website to be more staged how they would actually be used, but I know a lot of businesses stage with all white surroundings. And I shouldn’t say I stage things how they’d be used, or where they would be used, but I do stage them amongst other items, just not out on their own in a sea of white.
Don’t get me wrong, I like both looks. I think as a business, you just have to pick what is your style, or your brand. If I had an all white background I know I would confuse my followers because they would be expecting something less clean and crisp! Hilary shared one of her favorite Instagram accounts. @bellaluluvintage and I went and followed her. She has junk like I sell, but she does the white surroundings, and it looks great!! Her photos are definitely going to stand out in someones feed!
We also talk more about the weather…hey, we live in Iowa and the weather is all over the place this time of year! We also got hit hard last week with tornadoes. I am fine and Hilary is fine, but I’m glad we didn’t talk about it until the end because some of the stories are so tragic and I was getting a little emotional. Speaking of emotional, I wanted to tell everyone that our big dog, Cummins got ran over a few weeks ago, but every time I try to say it out loud I just start crying, so I guess you will only know of our loss if you read this or are Facebook friends with my husband!
I feel bad too, because just the week prior I had said we will never have another dog. I thought that we would have Cummins another 10 years when I said that, but…
Anywho, listen for yourself as Hilary and I chat over coffee…or at least I drink coffee. Come to think of it, I’m not sure I’ve seen Hilary drink too much coffee when we are live! So pull up a chair and join us!
