Social Media Content Creation Course Glossary

A list of terms and definitions for your reference.

A formula that Facebook uses to rank and prioritize posts on feeds. Based on the post itself and how people are responding to it, Facebook can increase or decrease your post’s reach.  

A term used to describe both social analysis tools and the information those tools provide.

A regularly updated web page that is written in an informal or conversational style. You can see my blog here.

Content that is timeless and does not expire or go out of style. 

A word or phrase preceded by a hash sign (#) that is used on social media websites to identify and categorize content on a specific topic. They make it easier to discover posts around those specific topics because hashtags collect all social media content within that same hashtag/topic.

An email marketing strategy that occurs when a person fills out a form with their email in order to download content or register for an event.
A self-portrait photograph, taken with a digital camera or smartphone.

A feature within the Instagram and Facebook where users can capture and post content in a slideshow format.

An Instagram feature that is only available to accounts with more than 10,000 followers. The features allows you to add a link to your Stories that users can access by swiping up.
