It’s hard to believe that we have lived in this home for two years now! I have rearranged and done numerous projects in this house already! Today I’m sharing with you how I styled my entryway!
The Entryway
Technically I don’t have a front entry. But thanks to some strategic furniture placement I’ve created a space as you walk into my living room that I’ve designated as the entryway. One of the first pieces of furniture I thrifted when we moved was this dark wood cabinet! I picked it up at Goodwill for only $11!!! That is absolutely unheard of in 2022!!
Behind the cabinet I installed board and batten. Read all about that HERE.
After I finished the board and batten I tried a few things on the wall, but ultimately settled on this little arrangement of mirrors! A lot of these had been in my shop in Centerville, but didn’t sell. Once I got them all arranged in my home, of course everyone wanted to buy them, but now they aren’t for sale!! I ship just about anything, but large mirrors really make me nervous!
Another thing I purchased when we first moved in was the fiddle fig. Now I do not have a green thumb, but somehow I have kept it alive!!
Painting
Of course I had to paint a lot of this home. I feel like painting helps make something feel new, fresh, yours. I went with Tuxedo by Benjamin Moore for the front door. In our old house, this black was our bedroom! Get a complete tour of our old house HERE. Also in this space is a little alcove where you have an opening to the entryway along with three doors. Two doors go to bedrooms and one to a bathroom. I painted one wall in this little space Sherwin Williams Homburg Gray. I have this color in a few spots around the house.
Vintage Decor in the Entryway
If you’ve been around for long, then you know that I love GREEN!! While it’s my favorite color, I’ve been decorating my home in neutrals!! Now I’ve heard some comments about how neutral is boring, but I don’t think there is anything boring about my house! The neutral decor pieces I pick have a lot of texture and character. They aren’t things that everyone would have in their home, and they aren’t just sitting alone on a table!! I love mixing textures and layering, and just because I repeat a lot of the same tones, doesn’t mean you don’t have a lot to look at!
Besides being in love with vintage, which is what most of my home is decorated with, I love weird things! Weird like antlers, taxidermy, feathers, shells, birds nests, bibles and mixing metals!! I’d love for you to see everything, so watch THIS VIDEO!
