One of the best things about our move to the Des Moines area is being close enough to visit an ALMOST monthly indoor flea market! The Iowa State Fairground Flea Market is held MOST first Saturday’s of the month. Some months they are in the Varied Industry Building, but most months they are in the 4-H Building.
This past weekend was an extra special month because it is one of a handful of times that the flea market is in the Varied Industry Building. This building is much larger, meaning that there are more vendors!! You can also get a bucket of cookies, just like they sell during the Iowa State Fair!!
Typically when the flea market is held in the bigger building, not only are there MORE dealer, but there is also MORE antique and vintage dealers!! You know that makes ME happy!!

If you don’t live too far, then maybe after you see what kind of items are at this flea market then you will decide to make a roadtrip to shop the next one in person!!
A lot of times people comment about all of the things I didn’t buy! 😂 But, hey I can’t buy everything I like!! I also am always considering resale profitability! I need a certain profit margin when purchasing to make an income. I also have to consider what other inventory I have on hand at the time, how long my “to do” list is, and is it something MY customer would want to purchase.
