A vintage Iroquois beaded purse or flat bag. This is a well utilized example with the bead work pattern in a more traditional style, typical of the later 1800’s. The fullness of this style differs from many Iroquois pieces of the time. There is very little damage to the purse itself. It has suffered loss in the bead work towards the top of one side in the blue area. This would make a wonderful addition to any Native American collection, and represents a time when Native people adapted to a new economy when there previous way of making a living could no longer be pursued or sustain them. This piece has such beautiful colors. The strap is no longer intact due to age. Please see all product images for closer detail.
